​OMUMC Music Director: Arkadiy Grinman

Arkadiy Grinman, age 63, left this earth on January 4th, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Moldova, (Former Soviet Union) on June 28th, 1961. He studied to become Master of Music Pedagogy at the Beltsy State Pedagogical Institute.
Arkadiy came to the United States in 1991, where he was a pianist at Synagogue Temple Beth-El during his early years.
He developed a career as a private piano teacher, instructing beginners to advanced, children and adults.
At SASPA (San Antonio School for Performing Arts) he contributed to several plays and teaching piano.
He was teaching piano at Cornerstone Church and Comal ISD for several years.
He was a Choir Director at Oak Meadow UMC for over 20 years where he found his community and he worshiped every Sunday.
Arkadiy was a gifted pianist who transmitted emotions and feelings through the music he played. He touched countless lives with his music, teachings and conversations. He loved hockey and watched every game he could, past and present. He also loved the Godfather and all mafia movies and shows, John Williams music, reading and grilling for his family. He was always ready with a funny remark and to make people laugh. He was an excellent host and he liked Tequila!
He was the best father and husband, leaving a legacy of honesty, loyalty, hard work and love of life. He enjoyed being with his family, especially at the beach.
He is survived by his wife: Diana, children: Alexander and Daniel, his sister: Rozalia and nieces: Greta and Marianna, who will greatly miss him.
